For those of you who ride in jeans...

That made me LOL ... nope although the metal bits on the pockets marked my saddle when i fell off once, luckly its only a wintec if it was a good saddle i probably would have cryed!!
 
Nope... Don't suppose you're riding commando when you're riding in your jeans for you to make a remark like that? :eek:

Maybe you haven't found the right pair of jeans yet, but Wranger Q-Baby's will see you right, with a nice pair of leather chinks over the top...

Maybe my lady parts are odd! But the seams where you sit, OUCH!

Not done this in years btw, just saw a girl riding through town in jeans which spurred the post on ;)
 
Hehe! I always ride in jeans and have no probs, although I do normally go for slightly stretchy ones as it can be awkward putting your foot up in the stirrup if they are a bit tight!!! :rolleyes:
 
I love my splash denim jods. I sit on my arse too but I still find jeans so uncomfortable! I seem to remember them ripping holes in my knees as well, again, the seams.
 
I love Goode Rider denim breeches. The gals at Goode Rider used to work at Levi's as designers, so they know all about denim and how to make it look grrrrrreat.
 
No, not at all. Love riding in jeans, it's so much easier as I hate wearing jods other than around horses so I can ride, turn out, jump in the car and do the school run without having to change. Not so much of an issue now I have the horses at home, but still tend to ride in jeans and then change into a non horsey pair for the rest of the day!
 
I always ride in jeans, can't be bothered to change to jods.

I never have had a 'rubbing ' problem with jeans just my underware .... If I don't have my riding grundies on ... I can get chaffed :o

Thanks, I look into it. Would quite like to be able to try them on before I buy. Maybe I'll have a look when we go to the US next year. We go to Montana, so may be able to pick them up there.

ETA they seem to sell them in one of my favourite shops in Seattle (Noble Horse Gallery), and we usually fly into Seattle, so will have a look next time we are there!

I've only ever ridden in one pair of jeans that rubbed a bit....And I blame the fact they didn't fit too well to start with.

I'm another one who prefers them to jods. The pockets are better for one thing, and I find some jods really uncomfy when the seam sits on the edge of my knee.

No. But then I don't ride on an English saddle either, I can imagine the comments I'd get if anyone saw me riding in jodhs (if I had any)

I'd never have dreamed of even wearing jeans to the stables, let alone riding in them in Wales though.
 
Never had a problem riding in jeans. I always wear Per Una stretch jeans - can't be doing with tight clothing!!. I do wear half chaps though.
 
I went on a short hack once in some very very skinnie jeans (think jeggings) and that was just about okay, but I can't ride in actual jeans, I just don't feel like I can move as well as I can in jods
 
My old RI would have given me such a ticking off if he ever saw me ride in jeans :p

However I have been known to do it, when I have gone up in jeans and decided I would ride after all. Half chaps over the top and I find them pefectly comfortable!
 
No, but my jeans are incredibly comfy, when I did go through a stage of riding in them due to no jods I found them just fine. I since bought a pair of jods from Aldi of all places, best jods I have ever bought too, and they were only £13! :D
 
I've got two pairs of Harry Hall riding jeans, I bought them a couple of years ago from my nearest Mole Valley, and they're sooooo comfy. I think they're called "Edmonton" or "Alberta" or something like that. They have knee reinforcements so give you a bit of padding there, but don't have anything to interfere with umm, one's undercarriage. I've not seen them anywhere else for sale not even on websites, which is a pity. They're made of lovely stretchy material and you can wear them from riding, to shops, to ...... whatever really.
