..... how much hay do you give them? and do you weigh it? I used to give ad lib hay but i have started soaking it now so started to weigh it. I have figured i only need to give them 1 - 1 1/2lb each at night as thats all they eat!!! I feel so mean but if i give any more its just wasted in the morning!!!

We have standard shetlands and they get 1 fold a night, 1 fold a day......I have no idea how much that would weigh.

I give a half of flake in morning and another half at night. I give 2 cups of mare and foal grain at 16 % protien a day as well. He seems to be just fine like this

mine has one pad of hay in the morning,she is out from 5pm to 9 am and is a bit portly . she doesnt always eat her hay

Mine lives out all year on marshy/boggy/poor grazing and he thrives. Thats it. lol.

Mine have a section and a half between them at night which I soak. They would eat as much as my big 17.3 heavy horses if I gave them the chance LOL

my two get through a good slice per night and on grass during the day, and still get porky!

Forgot to mention that although I feed that much hay, much if it gets wasted and raked up for compost

He has some grazing in summer but nothing that could sustain him. Just the grass growing up in his peened area that stays really mowed down and just something for him to nibble on
