I used to own this one - Welsh D sire, TB dam - much too sharp for me as all he wanted to do was jump - so after a few years persevering, I found him a wonderful home where that's what he does do - rather well and still in the ribbons at 18 :)

Gorgeous!! I've always wanted a tbx welsh D!

You can have one just like him! It's Harry, Freddy's stable mate that was. He's by a TB that was by Gone West out of a Welsh x ID cob mare and was meant to only make a show cob but nobody told him to stop growing and he's now 16.1 with more to go; nothing like any of the others out of the same mare!

as five week old foals

I have 2 cobs (welsh d and a coloured) and a TB!!
Coloured cob is def bolshier and uses her weight, welsh D well hes still a baby but cheeky as hell! TB is cool and collected until she gets uber excited and tends to rear if she dosent want to do something or finds it difficult. TB is never strong though just flighty like a kite!!

Batted for both teams- dont knock it til you've tried it :o

Both myself and OH have had TB's but cobs are such fab hunters/allrounders as well as being far lower maintenance and cheaper to keep. The other thing we have noticed is when a TB starts messing about- it can be quite intimidating wheras on a cobbier horse- its hilarious :p

Cant believe Maesfan's Harry is still for sale- he is a lovely chap but my OH needs something shorter/chunkier due to limited mobility after breaking his back, hence us going for Freddy :)

My neddy is the same but the exact opposite - by a Welsh D stallion out of a TB mare :)

I've only ever had TB's until him and he is fab :D

I also have a foot in each camp with a welsh D X TB baby (2yo)......

will hopefully get some decent pictures of him when I get around to transforming him from a hairy monster to a sleek and sexy boy, and he isn't standing like a complete and utter prune :o

Sorry, I can't ride cobs as in coloured/heavyweight cobs. Welsh Cobs I can - they are great fun! TB's are the mainstay of my diet evidently working in racing. Having ridden them I could never go back to a ploddy cob - sorry!

On the flip side of things I regularly ride 16hh+ stripped fit horses at work and then come home and ride a couple of shetlands and a 12.2hh darty :D

I have a cob x tb,shes an angel in all ways and totally chilled but has the get up and go factor, here she is hope you like her shes on left in first pic and few to show our mad 5 mins....

I wouldnt get up set by shils thread, as really A cob is type not a breed. not unless your talking your true gypsy cobs.

I kinda bat for both teams...

In seperate ways of course.

I have a TBX ( Polo Pony ) who is the smallest, most agile athletic thing ever.
But two horses I will never forget have been big fat fluffy cob cobs, who could jump just as high, run (almost, but with just as much heart) as fast as my boy, and who were super responsive and a pleasure to ride, jump and XC.

:D

Some people are so silly. A good horse, will be a good horse no matter what breed it is. x

This is my TB cross welsh, dam was Blithe Spirit II out of Master Spiritus and Merry Avon and sire was Daywell Pacific Gold. Don't know where the welsh bit is though as he's 17'2'' and a definate hot head!
