Never heard of anybody needing to put sunblock on a body part covered with hair like that (as I recall). However I've heard about some dogs with a pinkish area just above the snout, that have needed sunblock on that area but those I've seen has had much more pinkish skin than yours. That said, if I was going to keep an eye out on one area, I would choose his snout.

But wait until you see that he does have a problem and maybe go to the vet first, problems in that area on the snout could also be f.ex. because of allergy to the metal or plastic in his food bowl.

We have white and black cats and they get suncreamed every day in summer to stop their ears burning. They HATE it! It'll depend on how thick his coat is over his ears are to whether they'll burn or not.

Domino has white ears and he's fine but Bessie has a bald pink belly and we put sun cream on her when she's laying in the sun. I should think with the hair covering on his ear he should be fine. x
