You know which ones I mean... How did you manage to afford it??? They cost MUCH more than a deposit for a house.

Feel free to show off and post pictures!

I have always assumed that many people who own these sort of boxes live in beaten up old caravans and live on Netto baked beans to pay for them!

I cycle to work through a council estate where a couple of the cars (e.g. top of the range Disco) is worth more than the house it is parked outside. Not very clever as vehicles depreciate in value (quickly) and houses appreciate (slowly).

Well I have a little white courier van as my daily transport instead of a normal car and shop at Aldi to pay for the lorry/horses etc does that count?

I agree with you but in this instance the horse lorries that drive past my window really do belong to people who live in large houses with lots of land and luxury stables!!!!

Oh how the other half live eh???

ChicoMio - that sounds like the transporter that transported my horse! Couldn't even go up the drive as it was that big, and horse had to be unloaded on quite fast country lane in the middle of the night!!!

Apart from the professional transporters, I myself know only one person who has such a horsebox. Someone not very likeable though. Spoilt girl in her early 20s whose banker dad just had to buy her horses in the 6 digit value range (no, she's not a professional rider either), a Porsche, designer label stuff everywhere plus a horsebox like this.

I wished they were affordable for more normal people, too!!! But yes, OH would most likely send me to a mental institution if I even go as far as suggest that I want one!!!

Hmmm... maybe buy a field and live in horsebox instead of house??? At least I can say I own a home with stables... (note the sarcasm)

HADFOS - Your Jensen Ackles sig is really distracting, do you know that???

Our friend has a top of the range Oakley, but then he does travel a minimum of two hours to team chases in it every weekend in the season.
His wife cooks all their food etc while they're at the comps in its lovely kitchen and its somewhere warm to sit on a cold day, which means she can take their young daughter along.
But he is one of those lucky so and so's who can pick up a nice horse really cheaply because it needs schooling or has a dodge and then turns it into a superstar!

But they don't own the house..... and it is easier to buy Disco's with cash from drug dealing than it is a house - less paperwork.

Yesterday I saw a smart little silver coloured lorry, maybe a 3 berth size with small living? Don't know make or model (I'm useless at that sort of thing) but what I did notice was that it had 09 number plates on it.

Brand new! It's just not fair!

Jealous? Yes, I freely admit that I am ragingly jealous, because at the moment I can't even afford to get the back axle of the Landrover fixed so that we can tow my old (but actually much loved) Bayhill trailer!
