...how was your gee?

Mine was brill, went straight out on a hack which is a lot to ask but he didn't let me down

not a hoof out of place. Looky and full of it but beautifully behaved.

Also don't think fitness has suffered too much - mainly walked, did a massive hill and he didn't blow, so had 2 trots and then (because I am a child) a brief canter up the verge towards home, which was lovely.

How did yours react??!!

George was very well behaved but had real trouble with trot to canter and kept getting his legs in a real muddle! Went for a hack today and he was an angel, popped in the school for a little canter after and all was fine.

Mine was really good considering he is still a big baby. On arena yesterday and hacked today. Found the sand heaps and lumps of snow quite spooky but otherwise excellent

But am I the only one who got back on and thought it feels bloomin' high up here?!? Think I had forgotten what it felt like!

perfect!!!! i lunged yesterday just in case he was feeling a bit happy but today he was AMAZING and its been a month since he worked properly- think he needs a month off before each competition!

I lunged three horses yesterday and today loose schooled one of them, lunged and then rode one and hopped straight on the other one. They were all pretty much perfect.

we have a small indoor so I have been able to ride a few times since the snow came. However today was our first hack since well before xmas. I went out with a friend and both our horses were fine. It might have been a different story if I'd tried taking her out on her own though. That pleasure awaits next weekend if the snow keeps away!

mine was very good - bit spooky, particularly at all the 'snow sculptures' that have been left at the edges of roads...very scary! - but very good in the main.

Sadly, quite unfit....going to take a while before he is fit enough to resume our lessons - no point taking him if he is going to be pooped after 30 mins!!

Rusky was surprisingly good. I lunged him both times before I got on, just in case, he was nicely forward going and not at all spooky (miracle!!!). I worked him long and low and did quite a lot of walk. Unfortunately the lanes around here still have ice in places to it's not quite safe yet to hack.

Freddy was also good. I lunged him as well both times and it took him a little while to relax and stretch but we did manage to finish relaxed.

Cakey was a star, I just sat on him and he was fine!

Fab fab fab I am on such a high and all I did was walk out on the road for 30 minutes. Rode the big white boy at the head of the rest of the horses and he was usual star taking charge and giving everyone confidence. Think he was chuffed to be out too - put his head down to get his bridle on and felt pretty lively.

Sadly still can't girly out but track at her field is still pretty slippy so not worth the risk........next weekend though

We hacked today for an hour or so, the first time he has been properly ridden since around 15th December

GREAT fun

It took him about a mile or so before his back came down, he thought piles of snow were the SCARIEST thing EVER

, and spooked consistently all the way around

So about normal for Bob really

The only thing which changes when he is ridden regularly is that he doesnt put his back up as soon as you get on

I love my little TB, it is fab to be riding again

Ru was great until we got to the big hill to go down back to the yard and she got all stupid and prancy..... it may have more to do with the XC runner in tight shorts, bare legs and cramp (!) trying to run down in front of us, but I am really hoping not as that doesn't bode well for the future

Hehe the Welsh D was exceptionally fun yesterday in the school, he was quite behind the leg so gave him a tap with the whip to which he bucked all the way down the long side

Took Freebie cob out today for a quick hack, his first time hacking alone since Nov time so he did play up and we had a good few spins/running backwards for home. He wound himself up so much I got off and led him for a bit then hopped back on once he had calmed down. Totally my fault though, I've taken the easy option to ride in the school when alone and not hack out on my own, so he's lost a bit of confidence going out alone... will get working on that now the weather is better.

I rode 4 today!!

My pony was a bit cheeky but a star. My TB was very forward going and lovely to ride.

My friends big man was full of himself and ready for the off, and her youngster was a stubborn mare with attitude!!

Now I ache!!

OMG IT'S A PILE OF HAYLAGE BALES OMG OMG!!!!111111!!!!!!!!!11

That's what we had today, even though we've been out constantly. Once we got past the yard with the haylage, though, and into the woods, he was very forward-going and happy, even though they were not the usual woods.

Mine was fantastic!! Sprightly and full of himself but very well behaved, so very pleased, and soooo glad to be out in the sunshine!!

On Saturday I didnt dare get straight on my ISH. So I lunged her for about 20mins and she bucked and bronced then when she stopped wanting to canter I tacked up and took her in the school for about 30mins. She was quite good.

Today I took her out for a 30min hack then 30mins schooling. Tried out her new continental gag for brakes when hacking and couldnt be bothered to swap into her snaffle to school so had a go in the gag. She was going a bit overbent but she was striding out nice and powerfully

No turnout tomorrow cuz the Hunt is around

Frankie hadn't been ridden for 2 weeks but got on and went for a hack yesterday. We had a good look at unmelted bits of snow and still not sure about sheep but behaved very well. Clever TB.
Unfortunately got injured in the field this morning (kick I think) so couldn't ride today. Will give him a few days off and fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

I rode today for the first time in 3 weeks. Jerry was a star, we hacked the first mile on our own then met a friend. He was quite enthusiastic but we were out for a good 2 hours mainly walk but a few short trots, and he was still walking out faster than ever at the end of our ride.
It was a lovely sunny day and everyone we met on foot, on bikes or in their gardens washing cars, all had smiles on their faces!
Well done to all the horses who rode out today for the first time since the snow!
