Ok, I had about a few months break last year from reading the magazine... and I remember Julie Brown, the editor, bought a German-bred mare that was 4 years old. But now, all of a sudden I see that the editor's horse is no longer the same?

What happened to Vespa/Desperada? I fell in love with that horse (looks so similar to my mare) and kept on wondering... to the point where unhorsey OH told me to just ask.

For those who know... please let me know.

She was quite frank and admitted that she lost her nerve with her.She has gone on to a good eventinghome and Julie was looking for a new one.

She loved jumping more than dressage. Showed real talent apparently, so she sold her to her yard owner (I think) to go eventing.

Thanks eahotson... I was wondering so much about this for months... you can't imagine!!!

It seems Vespa/Desperada has even more in common with my mare than just the looks alone!!!

Oh, edited to say... two stories? Lol.

I think it was both due to her losing her nerve and the fact the mare was far more keen with her jumping when the editor wanted to do more dressage. Not sure who she was sold to but they are going to try eventing her.
