Do you find that people don't leave you enough room at the ramp at shows? This happens to me at nearly every show i go to and very often have to ask people to move because i wont be able to load my horse safely in the miniscule amount of space they leave me  Id never dream of parking my horsebox so closely to the back of someones ramp so that they couldnt get the horse in or out in a straight line but it happens regularly to me. One girl i know has a side loader, she arrived at a show, leaving the horse in the box with the ramp up while she went to put her entry in for her class, when she came back, someone had parked so close to her that she didnt even have enough room to get her ramp down . Do people just not think? I love my little horsebox but this is really spoiling my outings because i need space to load my mare. Anyone else having the same problem?

I know annoying isn't it. I had a woman in a land rover with trailer park so close to my side ramp last week I couldn't have opened it.. She looked miffed when I asked her to move . Buckets sound a good idea..

I've had this out and have been concerned about boxing out alone in case someone wedges me in and I can load up until they get back from their walk.. I did buckets and sticks last few times.. I was thinking about making a large sign on A1 or something large and laminated that I could also but on with magnets saying 'horse loads from this entrance' or something. This combined with buckets and sticks should do it I thought.

Mind people do it with lorrys too the last time I went to a show some parked their lorry so close to mine my horses tie up on the drivers side theirs on the passenger there was not room to tie my horse uo and have him so he could take a pot shot at their lorry never mind a strange horse I was on my own so did need to able to briefly tie up so asked them to move they where not pleased they drove in between my lorry and the one next door to park it was mad .

Pull in next to another vehicle on your left leaving enough room to put your ramp down, if there is no other vehicle to the ramp side to park next to reverse in so that the lorry on your right is then on your left leaving you enough space.

Side loading boxes take up a lot of room especially in the winter when parking may be very restricted so sometimes people try and park as close as they can, it may just be they do not notice the side ramp, it should not put you off going out.

Ive never had this problem.

people are always very considerate and leave each other enough room.

If you do get this problem you shoould go to the show secretary and get them to make an annoncement.

Its really not fair to park so close to another trailer/lorry, even if space is tight.

Yup I've had it, and when I have asked people to move they have said that I should, when I was parked up first! I always park and drop my ramp immediately, but it still doesn't stop people parking so close to my ramp that there's not room for the horse in front of it, very fortunately my girls load from any odd angle, but it's so annoying.

Best on that's happened so far was that I parked in a horse box park to go for a ride and when I returned there was a car parked 3ft from the ramp! Had to drive forward leading my girl out the window till I could drop the ramp as I waited for ages and no one came to help!! She's very quiet thank god and took it all in her stride but did look at me like I'd gone quite mad!!! "I'm mum arnt I supposed to be in the back?" Now I'm super careful where I park!

I wonder if parking sideways would be frowned upon....so my ramp is facing backwards like most other peoples :D

I am seriously LOVING this idea!!!!!

We drop the ramp as soon as we park, literally I jump out and drop it before we can be parked next too!

We also have x4 flat pack traffic cones, but never needed them yet!!!

Cones are excellent for D + D to use to warm up!!!!

(reminds me of that old program "Bread" where the Boswell's would put cones outside their houses lol!!!)

I did once have a moment when a rather close parker next to us tied their x2 heavy weight ponies to their box, and the horses ended up stood on our ramp!!!! I poliety asked them to SHIFT!!!!!!

:D
