Does anyone want their youngster out at grass (preferably a filly - no colts) over this summer? I have the grass, I have the youngster for 'her' to play with :D:D and I have people living on site 24/7.
BUT, the fencing is cr4p. Will yours stay behind electric fence?

My filly is becoming bored with her old field friends and would love a play mate!

Open to offers!!!

Should add that should say 'know' !

And I'm North Dorset/Wilts/Somerset border.

How old is she? I have a rising 4 (end july2008) the one in my profile pic. Not backing yet as was selling but tbh could do with more grass and he's a lovely friendly sole x

She is 2! NF type... (will hopefully mature at 13.2) Not that height matters when all you want to do is play!

Please be aware, the fencing really is cr4p... not normal to keep horses in, let alone youngsters!!

Do they get much handling? I've a 4yr old that would be happy to come play but I'm trying to get her used to more handling as she's nervy so wouldn't want that to stop.
I'm pretty near you and she's very good with fencing.

Handled every day. I like to make sure the feet and legs can be touched and picked up whenever I want. If I can do this with them 'naked' then brilliant, but if not I catch and do it, give them a pat and let them go again.

Awwww, you're the other end of the country from me :( My 2yr old would LOVE a playmate: he's so bored of his fuddy duddy older friends who don't want to canter round in circles with him :(

I have my rising 4yr old..two in their mid teens and a 26 going on 2 yr old who LOVE flying round in circles...perhaps I could start up rent a loon and help out lots of you!:D

I'd say yes but I think Ben would just fall to pieces if I dragged him away from Ebs and he's coming on so well at the mo, but it made me chuckle, I know what you mean about them cantering around, I put ebs and Ben out on the track system for the first time last week and I have a 5 min long video of him cantering trotting and bucking all the way around the track, I think he's secretly hoping to get into the Olympic squad! He just loves the track system... Sets the boogie man off in him!! :D

This is a lovely thread :) It made such a difference to my youngster when she got a friend of her own age to play with, I wish more people would do this. Good luck finding a pal.

This is a nice thread. Last year my yearling was with 2 "pensioner" type horses even though both were TB and not that old. Anyway when my 5 YO came home from jump training I was worried about her being to rough for the yearling. Needn't have worried. It was what they both needed! I love watching them play!

Hope someone takes you up on your offer as it's a nice opportunity. FWIW, mine are behind electric fencing and I think twice in 2 years we've had a fence debacle. Just meant a bit of a huley until they realised, oh this is where the grass is.
