Already posted in feeding forum but no replies! Am thinking of changing my lad over to one of these balancers...forageplus laminae balancer or the pro earth..Anyone had any experiences of either please? Cost not an issue, would rather have the correct levels and contents going into to his feed :)

I've been using the pro earth one for sometime and my horses various hoof and skin complaints have improved on it

As far as I can make out its trial and error with almost anything: using a scattergun approach you feed up to recommended and horse excretes excess. The other way is to anaylse forage/grass etc, but even that is not foolproof and would be of interest to a stud for example.

I haven't used any pro earth products, but after trialling a couple of other brands I really rate the forage plus balancers (although I use the hoof health one) - it's made a noticeable difference. Their customer service is brilliant as well.

I had my grass analysed and found the Pro Balance was best suited. Pro Earth products are very good and have been very happy .

Both companies offer very good products and are very clear on their websites how much of all the key minerals they provide so you can compare. Some people find one works better than the other as it all depends on you grass and hay and how deficient they are.

If you're on facebook, then there is a comparison file for some of the balancers, it doesn't have the laminae plus but has some other forageplus ones.

I saw no difference with pro earth but a visible difference in horn quality and growth but only when I used the performance forage plus balancer .
