ford kiga or land rover freelander?

i used to have a 2001 2.0tdi freelander, was very unreliable, sometimes just would not start for no reason. have you have any problems with your 2004 one? just wondering if maybe they have changed the engines or anything as dont want to buy another and then have the same problems all over again!! thanks :)

Post 03/04 are supposedly better! My 04 has been fine and has 125 k on the clock!

I have a Kuga but I only tow a single trailer with it. Don't think it has the legal capacity to tow a double trailer. I haven't yet had it on a muddy field but it is fine on roads, yards etc. Fuel wise,it is good for a 4x4 as it does 37mpg

KUGAs have a towing capacity around 2000 kgs but some are higher

The AWD KUGA DCi has a towing capacity of 2100 kgs so fine for a double horse trailer with two 500 kg horses in it - probably 150+ kgs to spare

Thats the one I have. Good to know it could tow a double, thanks!

I have a Ford Kuga, its a fab car! I am having a tow bar fitted next week and will be pulling an Ifor Williams 506, with 1 horse & 1 pony in. I have spent ages researching the towing, and have asked on the towing thread as I am a novice (but an old one!)

The car is great and averages about 35mpg around town. I have had it since new and not had a single problem with it. It passed its first MOT in September and I have only had to replace 2 tyres in the 3 1/2 years I've had it.
