Foreign clipper adapter/ circuit breaker

Hi there I have recently purchased GTS2004 clipper. When the clippers came the company said id need a universal plug adapter as the plug is an Australian one.

I got the plug adapter (dead cheap from local shop) but the clippers wont work with the circuit breaker. I have plugged them into the mains just to test and they worked.

A friend said that if im using a plug adaptor i might need a different type of circuit breaker that is to plug the australian plug into and then it will plug into UK mains? And that it probably isnt the clippers but the actual adapter that is stopping them from working.

I really have no idea as i have never bought clippers before.

Sadly, best thing you can do is send them back to whoever sold them to you and demand a refund......It is blatantly illegal to sell electrical products in the UK without a three pin UK plug. They are breaking the law and putting people's lives at risk.....call trading standards NOW!
