Right, done cobs to death.

Now how many of you go the whole way and ride the real heavy duty stuff?
grin.gif

Start you off with Cairo - 16.3, 800 kilo (in his prime) clydesdale, true master jack of all trades, in his day often won the local SJ and cleared 3' no problem, did well at the XC up to 3' always clear but bit slow

- , won dressage.

Safest hack around, would take out and return several hours later safely with three giggling kids all riding at once (not enough ponies for them all to hack out). Taught numerous people to ride - 99.9% bomproof.

Clydies can do XC - he was third that day

Babysit - having just come second in the 2'6 SJ class, brat niece insisted on coming in to get rosette and do lap of honour.

Do western - Maddie doing family pony - biggest, hairest horse and youngest rider in this class

Now 23 and retired, but still enjoys a 20 mins hack now and then.

Mac Suffolk Punch cross (Mostly Suffolk) 16.1hh around 700kg. Was hunted early on before we got him.

Can jump but haven't got any pics of him jumping, will go forever, and looks after complete novices and children alike, but is fun for more experienced riders.

Mine is 16.3hh, 700kg ish! Part shire!
Definately jack-of-all-trades! Does a biit of everything, but our favourite is hunting and eventing. He will hunt all day long and keep right up at the front! Anyone can ride him, but you need to ride him properly if you want him to do anything. Can be a sharp as a 'normal' horse (has dumped me a couple of times by whipping round and dropping his shoulder!

)

In the days when he was allowed to be hairy!

Now hes all trimmed!!!

Cancer, started at 7 and eye removed when he was 11, as it was kinder that continually operating - and nope has never effected him.

Other eye has had several operations and radio therapy and he is now so long sighted that he is almost blind from his nose to about 3' away. He is adjusting and Chancer acts as his sight pony through gates. Can still spot a feed bucket from other side of the field though and there ain't nothing wrong with nose - smells a naglet at 20'.

Teresa your clydie is absolutely gorgeous - it's my dream to have a HUGE clydie one day!

And henmeister - we have pretty much the same horse LOL!

This is Henry, 17hh half shire, half allsorts:

I've also done the hairy to clip thing!! The first pic is hairy him when I first got him
grin.gif

Wow, he's a very galant handsome looking chap, they have those faces that just make you melt inside and well up, they are very loyal creatures.

Go Cairo!!

He may be related to my Clydey x Highland!

Jake was good at and loved jumping (he stopped this due to bone spavin), he could do dressage and was good with wee children riding him. He lives with a feral cat and is 792 kg.

Spooky!!! Maybe they're rellies?!! Henry (mine) came from a breeder who I'm still in touch with now...

I shall have to tell H he might have a long lost brother or cousin just up the road!
grin.gif

Cairo was once plaited, trimmed and pulled, and for those who asked, his colour is a bay sabino - and he appeared in model horse world magazine as a perfect example of one

Though we prefer him hairy and clydesdale looking.

Yes they do jump but find a proper working sized one - up to 17.2 and not a 19 hand show horse.

Have really enjoyed seeing all the photos of other people's big chaps.

I much prefer proper hairy horses when they are hairy, one of the reasons we got Hen was because I had a childhood obsession with heavy horses!
Hens feathers arent really nice enough to be left long, he looks like a scruff bag!
