This is a quick thanks to them both for not only coming out on Sunday and hacking out with the Donkey - who is besotted with Godfrey the gay gelding (KatB's words not mine)

But we then spent some time with Donkey and a trailer - last time ISZ had come up Donkey had point blank refused to go in - this time, whether it was Godfrey's poo in there we will never know but after an initial stand off of about 5 mins and a few half in and shoot back out agains - she went in - and calmly out a total of 4 times and stood calmly still - one without food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I left the yard with the biggest grin

So a big thanks to you two as hubby is calling Bateson and putting an order in

Fantastic!!!! Now in detail how did they do it LOL.. Needing to do something, Bee not loading well and I think we have inadvertantly taught her to stop at ramp while we ply her with feed. She used to walk straight on and get a small handful of hard feed once in, but I think we have crept back and she seems to have been rewarded lately for standing at the ramp, making it difficult to get her in. If we flaff about trying she backs off, or out the side and we're all frustrated! Takes maybe 10mins to load, but compared to walking right on, this is like a lifetime!!

The first time we tried we completely emptied the trailer, opened front ramp and jockey door for light, took out the partitions and had lunge lines - she wasn't having any of it.
This time we merely took out the breech bars and swung the middle partition out of the way without taking it out but had ramp/door open. Parked on level solid ground that way when she stepped on the ramp it didn't wobble and after an intial 'no' she was fantastic. She clearly trusts her mum and Kat and I were just behind her with encouraging shoves and pats - the last 3 times of her going in neither of us touched her - I even closed the partition towards her so she was enclosed. Great result all round

The best bit though was when Goddy (fed up of someone else getting the attention) broke free and committed an armed robbery of the feed room carrots.... he has been issued with an ASBO!
