I love love love this chap! He is a stunner and the pic does not really do him justice. His owner always says "he is a lion in the ring and a lamb in the stable!" and never a truer word said. Ive looked after him on several occasions whilst his owner has been away at shows etc and he wooed me meet THE perfect gentleman!!

In my opinion ther are three types of cob and they all look and move so completely differently that IMO there should be different names for them rather than all just being rather confusingly just known as "cobs": -

Welsh cob

Traditional cob

My boy is really placid too - chilled to the point of being worrying lol. His dad is the same - he's 7 now and still entire but you wouldn't think so. Definitely a line for good temperament!

Yip, I agree. Personally I am a show cob person, and I do see the appeal of a nice traditional but there are so many rubbish ones around at the moment.

The problem is with welsh cobs... is every stallion in this thread is in my old girls pedigree. It's called INBREEDING. And much as I love her, she was a flipping nutter because of it!

At least gypsies can breed a damn good temprement with their lumps...
