Wonder if anyone can help .... Remember doing a nice little hack round Formby whilst visiting the beach a few years ago. It just tamed things for a liitle while and we went past some v posh houses! Parking on Lifeboat Beach - cant for the life of me remember where we went - can anyone help with directions? Many thanks.

It would have been Victoria Road/Larkhill Lane round Freshfield station - I am from Formby and my mum and dad still live there - you will have probably gone past their house! You can hack to the beach from Fisherman's Path down Victoria Rd. Will be quite busy at the mo though due to idiots parking all up and down it to go to the beach, blocking people who live there in and leaving litter (this is the bane of my parents' life!).

Brings back memories, I grew up in Formby right by the woods as a young girl and roamed free (by myself, wouldn't be allowed now!) in the woods and on the beach, learned to ride at Bowlers, fantastic. It planted the seed of loving the wilds that means we now live on a hillside overlooking the Cairngorm mountains I Scotland (and have red squirrels just like Formby!)

Never actually rode on the beach tho, although with the sea miles out it would be fantastic!

My mums grandparents once lived on the beach pretty much in a house called mount pleasant. That was in formby. Near a church that is very close to the road.
Not sure if anyone remembers it? It's been demolished now
