Is a minefield!!!!

I honestly don't know where to start. I want to keep it simple, though, thats all I know! She was on a few nuts before she arrived, but I want to start building her up and getting her fit.
She will be ridden 5/6 days a week. In at night, decent grazing. Atm she is on a bit of chaff and nuts, but I want to make sure she has enough oomph to cope with her slightly increased workload.

Would you wait until she's a bit more toned and fit before fiddling?

I'd keep her on a small amount of chaff with a vit + min supplement for now, so that you're not negating the effect of her fittening and 'Slimfast' work.

If you're doing a conventional fittening plan with her then after the first month or so, either swap onto a higher-energy chaff, such as Graze-On or Alfa-A, or keep with a lower-energy chaff and add a small amount of hi-fi nuts. That, combined with grazing and hay overnight should be ample, as she certainly looks a good do-er.

You may find that she seems rather lack-lustre in her first few weeks of fittening work, but this is quite normal; once she drops weight and improves her fitness then you'll be able to re-assess her needs for the muscle-building stage that will come from schooling supplemented by correct feed.

Thank you very much Megan2006 - will ask YO to add a supplement to her feed for now.

She seems alright atm energy wise, but yep will keep an eye on her, and keep a tab on her weight as workload increases.

thanks for your help.
