Forrest is absolutely fine at the moment, he turned a corner just before he was due to leave in the horsebox. By the time he arrived at the Hospital he was in good form, and was delighted with his lovely big stable and a very deep soft bed. He is now being kept at the hospital for a few days for observation and they are running a lot of tests. They have 2 specialist colic vets there at the Hospital who will be investigating him.

Liphook have been absolutely outstanding with him, I couldnt fault the service that we got, it was like a 5 star Hotel.

Got back at 5 am this morning, poor Owen didnt get mucked out until this evening, I was so knackered!

Thank you very much for all your lovely messages everyone, I am sure that they helped him lots!

Pleased he is doing well - it is not uncommon for us to get a call in of a horse painful - down and rolling, but gets to the hospital and seems relatively alright.

As the old colic saying goes - trest it before it gets better.

Thank you Gts! I have a feeling that he is through the worse now...I hope! But as long as he is still doing stinky droppings I will not relax,,, as this means that his guts are all gassy and fermenting?... but vet says that droppings are becoming more normal.

That's really good news. The staff are fantastic there, Herbie loved it so much he didn't miss me at all. I think he got a lot of attention!

Oh SB, I am so pleased to hear that... I kept checking the forum to see whether you had heard anything. I knew you would feel happy once he was there, it's just the uncertainty sometimes that makes us worry.

Those two colic specialists will get to the bottom of his colic episodes, and then you can have him home and know exactly what you should be doing and why!

Good luck SB and goodluck F!

Well, he is in the right place now to find a reason for his problem. I am certain they will look after him perfectly. I hope the test show up something straightforward that can be treated easily, and that all with then be well.

Sounds like he's in the right place for the vets to get to the bottom of it anyway.
Glad you found your machine, and Owen can continue to have his treatments.
