FOSTER MARE URGENTLY NEEDED - YORKS / LINCS

Can anyone help? Desperately need a foster mare for filly foal born 2.30pm yesterday, her own mum (show hunter pony type) tries to savage her even under heavy sedation by the vet. Still trying to keep them together but vet saying not looking good and to be prepared to take the foal away. Kingston Upon Hull Yorkshire/Lincolnsire boarders area.

I've just added that they have spoken with Joanna Varden and she has been very helpful.

The mare isn't mine but belongs to a friend.
 
Contact At The Races (Sky 415) - they will issue a plea out immediately. Or contact main equine vets (ie Rossdales, Greenwood Ellis in Newmarket) or even Newmarket Foster Mare. It's not too long a drive with a foal to this area. If it's a small foal, you can even put it on the back seat of your car and put your foot down to get there. Good luck. Hope it works out okay.
 
At the moment they have penned in the mare and tied her up so the foal can feed. Apparently if they keep this up for up to a few days there is a chance that the mare will accept the foal. She is a maiden and savaged the foal at birth.
