Fostering for the RSPCA/similar

Has anyone ever done it?

I was looking at their site a couple of days ago and some adds said "to adopt or foster" so that got me thinking about foster? I have a few spare stables where I am but would have to consider the extra time and costs etc?

Yes, I have. If you foster a horse or pony from the RSPCA, they will pay any vets fees but you pay for everything else including feed, farriery, worming etc.

They come out and do a home check first. Usually foster horses/ponies are youngsters.

Adoption actually means that they sell the horse to you, subject to checks. There was a thread on here about it a few weeks ago, in which I posted.

Okay that's cool, thank you! I've just tried to look at your recent posts, but there are LOTS haha! I have a 3yr old who is only used to being with my 28yr old cushings mare and mini, if something happened to the old lady I don't want him to be too attached to her! so might be worth looking into! so a young one wouldn't be a problem!!
