Had a horsemart browse...
I like this one

And also this one...but i am put off by the lack of ridden photos and the seemingly low price.

Thoughts?

I don't, personally, like the look of the first one, but the second one does look nice, I agree - £2000 inc tack is cheap!
Maybe ring them up and ask them why he is so cheap? You would just have to be very careful with the vetting on him, include bloods, x-rays etc if they don't come up with a reasonable answer. But maybe he is just a bargain!

I noticed the first one myself. I like him too. Second one is very cheap. I'd take tasteofchaos's advice on that one. Good luck

I like the first one and think he's very reasonably priced. Am I missing it or is there no mention of breed?

I like them both and a nappy tb (My interpretation of the ad!) is only worth £2k IMO? Nice looking horse, though.

I think you should just go and look at them both, because they may come across and look competely different in real life, you may prefer one from the add, but then actually like the other that had more question marks buzzing around in your head.

Both seem reasonably priced.

I am not a fan of the bog standard TB type brown horse BUT I would be keen to look at both - I think the top one certainly looks to have some promise and is 2 years younger. The second one you can only really judge what it may be like by going to see it I guess as no ridden pictures there.

It looks sweet enough and a nice 'type' and maybe it's just more inclined to spook etc when on its own as opposed to being nappy.

I don't think £2000 is too cheap either seeing as it doesn't aseem to have been doing much whereas the other one it would seem they've been getting it out and about competing so can justify a higher price. I think £2000 is reasonable for the 2nd horse.

Ditto- tb's dont have a huge price tag unless they have won numerous stuff!!!

my previous boss went to the race horse sales and bought 2 three yr olds and a 5yr old all raced and not made the grade really for £500 a piece, they all turned out to be fantastic horses after re schooling defintly worth it if your willing to take a bit of a chance.

Thanks everyone!
People who said they weren't keen on the first- can i ask why? Or is it just personal preference? Just want to make sure i haven't missed anything obvious

Kitsune- ideally i am looking for a fairly straightforward (i've had enough of seriously quirky horses

) 15.2- 16.2 capable of doing Intro and PN, and be a general allrounder. Must be a keen jumper.
6- 12yo.
Must be ok to do, and hack alone- i don't mind spookiness at all, but do not want one that is out-and-out nappy (so would definitely have to check how bad the second one is to hack alone!). Oh and MUST be a good loader! (trailer)
I have a budget of about £4k.

I really don't want anything too green, or young (sorry mickey66 and V4Vendetta!) as i'd really like to be getting 'out and about' as it were fairly soon.
Sorry, pretty specific, but i want to get it right this time round!!

i like the second, 2000 is a gd price maybe its just someone who realises tht people just dont have huge amounts of money just now and want there horse to sell

just make sure it gets vetted etc

some of the prices u see for horses is just crazy 4000 for a simple hacking cob and such, when i was looking a while ago now thts the sort of money people were expecting money the majority at the moment just dont have

The reason I didn't like the first one was pretty much personal preference - I'm not a big fan of TB's, I like my horses with my bone than that. I have seen some TB's that I like the look of (the 2nd one actually being one of the rare exceptions!) but they have to either be chunky tb's or have a particular 'look at me' vibe, which I didn't get. Didn't see anything wrong with it though, just as they say, each to their own!

The first horse isn't my type but he gets on and does the job and there are pictures of him actually doing things which means a lot of plus points for him!

The second horse I like more in a way but no ridden photos is a bit offputting as is the potential to be nappy. Plus I am always nonplussed by "needs ambitious rider" don't quite know why though - just sounds odd. Price includes tack and rugs so very cheap really.

Go and try them both and report back!!

First one looks nice sort and priced to sell.

Second one... read between the lines very carefully....

I interpret a nappy fck who wont go up the road on his own, without someone very experienced on top!
