I've found a new yard and should hopefully be moving in about 10 weeks as need to pay bill (new yard know and are OK - will put deposit down ASAP). My cob will be living out as he always coughs when he is in, my mare will be on DIY.
As they are on 2 different types of livery they will be in separate fields and I'm not sure how my mare will cope with being separated from Olly. I have fenced my field in 2 to give half of it a bit of a break, and whilst I can put one in each side I'm concerned that Millie will break through the fence again as she has no respect for the electric fencing.
Is there anything I can do over the next few weeks to get her used to not being with him? She is happy enough to come into her stable without him, but I'm concerned about leaving her out on her own. I doubt I can put her in a different field and besides all the fencing at the current yard is wooden posts with electric tape (new yard post and rail!) so I'll still have the worry about her coming through the fence!
