My sister was contacted to catch a loose horse found wandering in an open field towards the road just off Stocksmoor Road (Netherton/Midgley near Wakefield) opposite the entrance to Earmshaw's fencing centre.
The horse is a dun/buckskin mare, approximately 16hh, fairly lightweight build. She does not have a freezemark, and is not shod. She is apparently very sweet tempered.
It's likely that she's very local; we've checked with friends on South Lane (behind the field where she was found) but they don't recognise her.
If anyone knows her or the owner please PM me for more details. I suspect the owner is at work and therefore does not know she is missing yet. She has been taken to a local yard and is safe and well. The police have been contacted in case someone contacts them.
