So, I bought Breagha back in May and she was sold to me as IDxWB, which I have stated in some of my posts.

So after some investigating (powers of facebook) - I got in touch with the people that bred her.

So, it turns out Breagha is a Heinz 57 breed (not that it changes what I think of her, shes my baby) but her mum is Cob x TB and her dad is Cob x Clydesdale.

Now, this would explain alot, her size, her temperment etc.

Now, I am really excited to find out what she is going to turn out like in a few years to come :D

That would make a lot more sense! Smashing cob :)

If she were mine I would be getting a serious itchy clipper finger and whip that mane and those feathers off

That is a nice practical mix, OP! Sounds as if she will make a very useful type :)

Thanks. :D

Yes, it makes more sence when you look at her.

I have had itchy fingers since the day I got her but I have been waiting to see what she turns out like as she is only 19 months old and alot of changing to do.

A very nice looking little horse; you can see the touch of TB

It all makes more sence now.

I am currently waiting for a picture of her dad, who is 16'2/3 coloured Drum stallion. Looking forward to that. I have a picture of her mum but it wont let me upload it but I will try again.

To be fair, her original stated breeding isn't far off! There is a lot of Clydie and TB in ID and 'Cobs' are often a mixture of ID / Clydie / Shire / TB / WB of varying degrees lol! She looks a sweet mare though and nice to have info on her actual breeding! :)

Thats interesting to know about the breeds - I didn't know that about the mixture.
Im waiting for a picture of dad :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I love her mane and I'm always a sucker for feathers

Shes got a lovely mane but doesn't have the feathers to match. Im still deciding on what to do with her as I will be showing her again next year and of course need to be turned out correctly for the red ribbons lol x

However she is bred she is cracking! AND looks as though she has a nice calm temperament.

Thanks. She has got a cracking temperament, I cannot fault her in anyway. Xx

My mare is by Orlando, (his last foal), apparently he was bred as a drum horse but didn't make the weight!

What do you mean by didnt make the weight?? Never heard of Orlando.

I dont know much about Breaghas dad apart from he is a drum and is about 16'2/3. Looking forward to getting pictures of him.

He was bred by the queen, a coloured warmblood, very much the first quality coloured sire available. Has Milton blood lines so his offspring have good jump. He wasn't tall or heavy enough to be a drum horse.
Are we talking at cross purposes here? My idea of a drum horse is

My idea of a drum is a Cob X Clydesdale, which would turn out just like that coloured.
