Yay! After a lot of emailing back and forth and searching through info. I've finally managed to find out where Freddie came from!!
I'm still waiting on more info on his sire but anyway...
The first owner registered on Freddie's passport is a lady called Andrea from Meadow Farm UK... I knew I recognised her name and when I looked it up, I'd contacted her previously to see if she had any traditional geldings for sale... small world.
Anyway... she sent me the following two pics...
His mum Queenie (later named Twinkle)
And Freddie as a yearling...
How cute?!
Turns out the reason he is passported as 'Freddie II' is because when she got him she already had another colt called Freddie, who became my Fred's best friend!
She bought Queenie/Twinkle with Freddie at foot, weaned him and sold him on.
She got the mare and foal from a lady named Carol from Chywoon Stud, who bred Freddie. So I emailed her.
She sent me this pic...
It's Freddie's Daddy, Pride
I've just replied asking if Pride was ever shown or had any competition history or anything, but somehow I doubt it.
But it's nice to know a little more about my man.
It seems after Andrea sold him he got into the wrong hands as when Debbie (who I bought him from) bought him, he was in quite poor condition. So I have no idea what happened between Andrea and Debbie as there's no records of that.
