Found this bump on my horse what is it?

Just found this bump on my horse this morning does anyone know what it is?

My old highland had a similar lump. It was a tick but he had knocked or bitten the body off and left the head in side the lump. I squeezed quite hard and the head, luckily came out. Put some iodine in the hole and it healed beautifully.

How quickly has it appeared, overnight? If so it's likely to be an insect bite or possibly a thorn?. .

I inspected it earlier and seemed to be nothing on it but I’ll check again when I’m blanketing her tonight thank you!

Just over night I have her without a blanket because it’s quiet warm during the day thanks a lot I was worrying myself!
