So I was doing my daily poo pick this evening and found something I was unsure of. It was kind of green and appeared to be growing out of the dirt. Any ideas??

I think its something mythical. Being a history teacher I know about these things! It's called grass and we used to feed it to ponies and other animals but nowadays we have to buy hay which is far more pricey. As I understand it you must be very lucky as there is very little of it in the country! :-)

Well, I only have a very small amount which I am sure the ginger one will have found and eaten by now, but if I find anymore, Ill post you a postage stamp sized piece :D

Haha - I took a very similar photo today, just because I was so happy to see the mysterious green stuff!!

SPRING IS COMING WOOOOHOOOOO :D

I usually hate this kind of thread because I am a miserable old bag but this did make me smile. Our yard has copious amounts of the stuff waiting for the paddock turn around - it did make me laugh seeing those sprouts coming through in the picture HR! I hope the grass soon arrives and your purses can have a rest. Won't be long before we are all moaning about strip grazing/sectioning off/fatty paddocks/muzzles etc! :)

Good god, I remember that green stuff!!

The best I found lately whilst poo-picking was a fresh duck egg!

A duck egg! Nothing like that foundin my field. It was quite windy today so I did find a fillet string (pony is naked so not his) a couple of buckets and a very large tree branch, although no trees nearby...

Lol I too was peering at screen looking for worms!!
The really amazing thing about that magic green stuff is when your horse has eaten it, it REAPPEARS!!! Why can't hay do that - winter would be affordable!

Oh the wind is driving me mad! I think the ducks have gone mad too, given their new choice of egg laying spots. ;)

I found part of the shed roof in the field thanks to the gusts.

Lovely, HaffiesRock I have bundled all my pones up & sent them to you as they want to see this mythical grass ;)

So have fun with Gingerface, her daughter Snee, Blackpony, her son Spartacus the wonderfoal & Nevthesupershetland :D :D

It does re-appear, once processed, as poo. Am debating whether there's call for selling feedsacks full when well rotted at £1 a bag at the gate....would be a good return on money then.

I look forward to their arrival. I hope none of them are lami prone with all the grass I have? :D

That's photoshopped. :p

I wouldnt have a clue how to use photoshop! If I did I would have added some sun and blue sky to the pony pic :D

We always used to sell the well rotted muck heap from the house gate! Dont see why you shouldnt give it a go. Invest the rewards in a Caribbean holiday to feel some sun on your back.
