The time has come that Four gets to shine in the spotlights... and oooo wow is he a stunner!
For some of you, Four has been in the shadows for a long time, so most people won't know him. Four is a 3,5 year old KWPN stallion, by Vivaldi. Last year I "broke" him in (only sat on him 5 times and walked loose once) and then left him be. He was too weak, too much of a baby. He wasn't ready to handle it mentally and physically. And I am so glad I didn't push him! He is much stronger now and is definitely ready for the challenge!
So last week friday I popped a saddle on his back (first time with a saddle on again in 3 months time) and got on. Not a single weird look off him and he was quite pleased he got to work. Went loose almost straight away (in a small lunge arena). After 5 minutes of walk, popped into trot, which he was a bit uncertain about, as it was he first time loose in trot. Still very proud!
Saturday I popped the saddle on again, went loose straight away and he did a much better trot, still very wobbly and looking for reassurance, but very pleased.
Yesterday I asked a friend if she would take some pictures, even lough I didn't have any steering, a reasonable break and a very touchy accelerator. I was his first time in a "big" arena (20x40) and he nearly bumped into the fence a fews times, luckily his has good brakes. Towards the end, the battery was empty and mister Four put the handbreak on.... making me look stupid as my attempts of getting him to move forward looked very..... pathetic, haha!
So here are the vids and some pics of my wild stallion!
This one is from friday!

And two pics from yesterday!
And a little video of Breitlingh and me, trying a canter half-pass for the first time. I don't think it looks that bad!
