So has it actually stopped rainign yet? The good news is i dont think there will be a hosepipe ban for the next two years, bad news it will be so wet there will be no point in using it!
So with Delicia recovering from treatments for Kissing Spines and SI disease, it really is vital that her regime isnt affected too much. But, with the rain hammering down i also didnt want her to become cold and wet (she is full clipped out).
The solution? Bung on the heavy weight turnough rug and loose school her
. Result!
This si Delicia's condition today
Despite getting at the haylege, she hasnt dropped any! (NB: Delicia is allergic to haylege - she scours very very badly at even a hint of it in her diet. Unfortunately on a working yard and with her love of it, she scavanges it!)
So i set about loose schooling her (of a fashion)

After all my love, cuddle and attention, she rewarded me with this...

Oh well, thats horses for you!
And interesting note to make, Delicia's whole demeanor has changed since she started treatment. She is a lot calmer, happier in herself and seems to trust me a lot more. She follows me about like a puppy and when completely untacked, obeys me fully (we are still working on once tacked up
)
I am thrilled about how well she is healing. Her next check up with the Vet is at the begining of January, at which point she will be 6 weeks post diagnosis and having been lunged 6 weeks in the pessoa. There *are* talks of her being sat on...but at the moment these are mere whisperings.....i really do hope she continues to improve. All hints of lameness seem to have gone. I am very proud of my brave horse and would love to thank my wonderful yard for all their support and help.
Delicia says thank you too
But she still isnt sure on the tree...
