Fox Mange In 3 Dog's we have.....Help Required

I am in desperate need of help and advice from anyone who has had fox menage on their dogs.
My 3 dog's have caught it and it is driving me and them mad!
Have used all the stuff given for the last 3 months and we still have it!!
Please help someone!

OH gives the terriers an injection of some sort and it clears it up straight away. will find out what its called this evening.

have you tried bathing them in Malaseb shampoo? A simple bath in hibiscrub also can help to relieve the itching

My greyhound has it at the moment - vet has suggested Advocate (which is a 'drop on the back of the neck' treatment) and I am bathing her twice weekly in Malaseb. She is also on steroid tablets to reduce the itching (not ideal I know, but she was just awful before

)

So far I have been treating her for about 1 1/2 weeks, and it appears to be improving slightly - she isn't scratching/nibbling herself, and her coat looks better - it is almost shiny in places.

Plus she is eating like the proverbial horse and is putting a small amount of weight on - which considering she is about 6kg underweight

is a good thing!

I can recommend a cream called Nustock - a USA product but is available over here. It really helped solve my lurcher's skin irritation that persisted despite several vet treatments. Had no problems since - have just looked at the jar and it claims to cure certain mange conditions. Can't recommend it highly enough for any dog with a skin condition. Think they have a website at www.nustock.com - the before and after pictures are worth a look.

The jab you're referring to is most likely Ivomec (Ivomectin) in which case if the original posters dogs are collies or likely to have any collie in them don't use it as they can react.

If they aren't and you do use it, it will probably 'clear them out' and it will worm them too so miss their next worming date.

My dog got it this time last year - i used Advocate, which you can buy at the vets, cleared it up pretty quick.
