Indifferent.
Completely bored with reading all the complete twaddle spouted by both Pro and Anti. Both groups seem think that anyone not in either group are clueless.
No, change that. Both groups thing anyone not in their group are clueless.

Sorry to drag it up again, but there was some feeing on the other thread that an empirical idea of proportions for/against would be interesting.

I specifically designed it not to display bias, didn't elaborate with emotive language / leading questions, so as not to encourage any of the mudslinging of the other thread.

Agreed you are a muppet. Just for the record, which muppet are you?

Animal, clearly

Indifferent.

Never been hunting. Would like to try it one day when I am feeling brave. Not fussed on the actual killing but I'm sure there are worse things in life to worry about.

O no! Are you going to accuse me of bullying and run off and tell TFC?! :p

She is a weirdo it's true. But she is even more a scientist than she is an odd bod! Hence she must be beaker :D

Nope, I shall bash you with a baseball bat if we ever meet. :p
Now that you have qualified your post and I can see that your opinion was based on reasoned thought with prior knowledge of the subject then I will admit it has merit. ;)

How boring and grown up of you :(
Are you sure you wouldn't rather accuse me of bullying? :D

It could only be classed as bullying if it had an effect on me. As I generally dont give a flying whatsit what anyone else thinks (benefit of being an old git) your statement would not count.
However, as it seems important to you that i react
This is for you....

Much better, and much more in keeping with the atmosphere on here in this glorious half term week! :p ;)

I put against, but I'll admit I'm actually unclear on what the current rules are, as everyone seems to say something different. Often when I read posts on here it doesn't sound like the "ban" actually really bans anything very much .

I've been against fox hunting since I was a little girl - I always thought foxes were beautiful. I'm not quite so militant as I was, but it's a moral decision that I stand by. I'd love to have a go at drag hunting though, but I don't think that would do my mare's joints much good (arthritis).

/\/\/\/\ This I agree with.
The rules are fox hunting is banned by law, but the pro's try to find any which way to flaut it and carry on regardless:eek:
I find it worrying when a human is indifferent to the ripping apart of any animal, it shows a total lack of compassion, the very thing that sets humans apart from animals.
There was outcry when a prominent local politician was found guilty of ripping apart and bludgeoning some kittens - I equate hunting with hounds on the same level. This is my opinion.

PM / JT, lol, just lol... I actually have split personality syndrome. When I posted earlier I was Animal. I'm about to go to work, where I will be Beaker. When I get home tonight I will morph into Gonzo (hopefully sans the nose )

So much more civilised - thanks JFDT

You could at least get my name right  (jokes :D)

Being a cruel unnatural toff who spends their time chasing the uneatable (alegedly!) I am of course in my usual besozzled state (hic...) hence speelling not so good (and remember it is very imporatnt to stick to an assigned sterotype!) So do pleese accpt my most adroit aploogoies JTFd....;)

I am Indepted for your valued observation, but this being which Muppet?
If you spent less time in the hip flask and a little more developing culture you would not have to ask that question.
One muppet is famous for the line "back of Creep" tis Miss piggy.

You do realise you are now further indepted to me for increasing your worldly knowledge. ;)

Agree with this and Hashrouge.

Not sure about the muppets issue, but it's entertaining :D

For....but done properly..where the whole idea is that you kill an unhealthy fox with hounds...not let some 'gets his rocks off' terrier man who thinks it's mega big to send his JRT down when the fox has gone to ground.
Hunting is about disrupting foxes territory....not about digging them out...IMO that is no better than Badger baiting...
Gosh...I sound quite cross...sorry.....I shall go and look for something calming...
Bryndu ;)

I am so far the only other.

My thoughts: Fox numbers have to be controled. Of the options for that hunting would seam to target the weakest - the ones most likely to kill a coup of chickens because they can't catch anything else. I have see foxes caught in wire- nasty. If they are shot but not killed immediatly it's a slow nasty death. Have also see fit healthy foxes trotting calmley away from the perplexed hounds who by now are heading in the wrong direction. I kept my mouth shut for my sins. (I was just hacking and ran into the hunt.)

However, having been hunting and cubbing as a child, frankly seeing a hound happily trot along with a fox head in it's mouth is too much for me! I was told "nothing gets killed cubbing" it was! I was told the master shoots the fox before the hounds get to it- never herd the shot and my nutty pony was so insistant to be at the front we had to use the Masters horse's bottom as a break- "just aim for that and she will stop". We had already overtaken the hounds 3 times by then and the Master was left eating out dirt 5 times. They were very accomadating and kind however. I wasn't told off, just helped to get a highly strung pony under control.

The reason I didn't hunt is because I am not into the blood/gore- really turns my stomach. But how do you control the foxes in the kindest way possible? At least the fit tend to get away and for those caught it is relatively quick.

If I sound confused it's probably because I am! I am not for, not against, not on the fence, just confused!
