I had a fractured pelvis diagnosed this week from a fall last Oct (I think). I had been unable to walk back then for a few weeks, was told it was bruising etc. All winter felt sore and just thought I was being a wimp. Three weeks ago it went really bad in a riding lesson and saw ortho surgeon on Monday and he Xrayed and said it was a fracture.
Has anybody out there done similar and how long did it take to recover? Obviously mine hasn't had a rest so hasn't healed (having MRI on Monday to check that there is nothing sinister going on - ie cancer as I had renal cancer last year). My pony has now been moved onto grass livery, so pretty much no work there, dogs will be walked by children/husband and off work for a week to start with. Anything more I can do?

My mother broke her pelvis in two places after a horse went over backwards onto her. I am amazed you didn't feel the need to go to A&E at the time, you must be made of iron!

There isn't much you can do apart from rest, rest and more rest, which is probably why you are still having issues now sadly.
As long as tests rule out anything more serious going on, try to make up for lost time by taking the weight off your feet as much as possible and keep up a healthy diet so your body can heal itself.

My mother was back to business as usual after about 3 months, but then she was treated straight away.
