fractured pelvis

My gelding has been to newmarket and they have confirmed that he has a fractured pelvis. its not on the joint but there has been a bit of bone come away which they are hoping that scar tissue will hold in place. my vet seems very keen that he will be 100% after march when he has his next scan but iam so worried. this was not his fault but of a sold called international showjumper who i stupidly let ride. has anyone ever heard of a fracture like this and the outcome that the horse has for the future?
I also would like to know if i can claim from the witch that did this

We dont know how but was diagnosed when he went lame - in front of all places. Tex Gamble is my 'backman' and he advised that my horse have 3 months stable rest where he was deap littered and not allowed out his stable under any circumstances and only pick his feet up to pick out we couldnt pick his feet up any higher then if he was walking.... he was constantly examined and we also used one of those magnetic rugs for an hour a day. After this he then went out in the field for 6 months and then eventually was given the all clear.

I think in total it was nearly 12months he was out of action.

However he made such a recovery that he went on to continue BSJA with me - and still jumps BSJA now at the age of 23

Tex told me not to worry at all about this as now his pelvis has mended it was now stronger then it ever was before. You can however on close inspection see some signs as he walks a bit perculiar behind - but hey I dont care !!!!!

so my advise is dont panic with the correct treatment he will make a full recovery. If you have any questions ask away and I will try to rack my brains and answer - its been quite a few years !!!!!

My boy fractured his pelvis (not when I owned him). It has caused me a lot of grief as I dont think it was allowed to heal properly or given correct treatment, but he has bone spavins in his hocks as well so that is certainly not helping! He did have some lovely dressage movements in him before his arthritis got worse, but that is not related. So it is not all doom and gloom
