Fractured shoulder

My horse 2 weeks ago fracture and chipped his shoulder in his stable!! We dont know how he did it!
He is at the vets and will be there for a while as he has an infection in his bone if he come back He is in no pain and is still happy at the moment!!!!
Was just wondering really if anyone has had any experience with sort of injury with there horses?? And how they recoverd etc!!

Hi, yes my daughters jumping pony got kicked on the shoulder and cracked it, had quite a nasty hole as well.
It was a few yrs ago now so cant remember exactly how long he was on box rest, apart from painkillers and antibiotics there was'nt much the vet could do, i went down the homeopathic route with him, if i remember i was giving him Arnica ans Rhustox(sp? sounds like that anyway) tablets daily.
He came sound unbelievably quickly, think it was about 6wks, even the vet was suprised.
Just did light work with him in the school for a few wks then he was more or less back to normal.

Fingers crossed the infection clears quickly in your horse and he is home soon.
