I shed some tears yesterday evening as I said goodbye to our 4 year old Cleveland bay filly, Duchess of Malfi.

She has gone to Penrose Stud on the Gower in South Wales, who have held the record sale price for a CB yearling for 20 years.

It was organised like a military exercise. She had been to local yards and shows with a companion but not travelled alone. Over the past month we did some practice runs to the shops with her alone on the Ifor Williams.

Yesterday evening 4 hours to Dieppe, on motorway, a four hour crossing to Newhaven, she met her new owners at Cholderton CB stud in Wiltshire at 8.30am. Time for turn-out and a leg stretch. She loaded without any trouble on to their box, then off to Wales.

You can see her looking chilled this evening in her new home. Cleveland Bay Open Forum FB site. She has gone to a very experienced CB home where she will be loved to bits.
