We won't be losing him from racing. I expect he will be joining the ITV team for the summer flat racing. He is a great guy, mostly nice and generally what you see is what you get with him.

I hope he has a great season next year and can finish on a high. He has been a true ambassador for the sport for many many years.

I prefer the AP type of retirement. We were there at Newbury and missed him announcing it. Only realised when we got home ?

I still remember the BBC playing Wichita Linesman as Clare Balding made a presentation. He was practically writhing with embarrassment.

Frankie was outstanding on Question of Sport, I hope he'll do more stuff like that.

I followed his father in the 70s. He won 2000 guineas twice on Wollow and Bolkonski (might remember a bit wrong). I bet on both heavily as my £50 a year grant was running out. My winnings got me thru to the end of year at university.

When Frankie started riding I of course followed his career although having made winning bets when I needed the money I no longer bet, just enjoy the racing.

Thanks also go to John Gosden who gave Frankie a chance to come back from his drugs ban. Without Gosden's support we'd have lost Frankie as an ambassador many years ago.

Hope he continues to be a face for the sport in difficult times media-wise. A job on ITV would be great. (Must admit I find Ruby Walsh almost as miserable as Ryan Moore)

Ha Clodagh, I tend to watch the racing in the evening having recorded it. I always fast forward his analysis, I dont think he tells me much I haven’t deduced for myself. He has such a droll delivery, nothing animated, give me Alice or even Megan anytime!
