I got my baby back yesterday.
For those who haven't seen my previous threads, about 2 years ago Frankie went lame with what turned out to be soft tissue damage in the back of the foot (DSIL, DDFT and collateral ligaments in both feet)

Well we spent 18 months trying various traditional options inc box rest, remedial farriery etc but at the start of the year he was getting worse to the point that I despaired of him even staying field sound.

As a last resort I had heard of this study into barefoot rehab for these injuries at Rockley farm and in feb I packed him off to Exmoor. I had my doubts as he is a TB and had had typically underrun heels, contracted frogs, thin soles long toes,
But we decided to give it a go.
And the result, he's in a fair amount of work inc 15 miles of roadwork a week. And came back yesterday and today we took him to be reassessed by my vet at the RVC.

The verdict - sounder than he's ever seen him.
