*sorry it's long, i didn't want to write that in the title because no one would have read it
wink.gif
wink.gif
* sneaky

OK well I haven't really posted about him moving because it all happened so fast - C (Frankie's owner) got kicked out on Monday, rang me stressing, i said I'd do all I can, asked if I could take him to Somerset if I got a job there (had interview) and she said yes
grin.gif
but then she rang me back on Tuesday saying that she had found somewhere down the road, for all 4 of her horses. Panic over. But that probably means if I did get the job in Somerset I wouldn't take Frankie because he has only just moved, and he is stressy anyway
mad.gif

Anyway me and C rode to the yard - C hadn't rode for god nows how many years, so fair play to her for getting on her oldie and riding the couple of miles. She even said herself she was nervous - but at least she could now see what Frankie is like on hacks
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
rode out the yard, F was spooky and started jogging, I was like 'see i have to deal with this on my own
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
' C was like 'well he never used to act like that..............'
mad.gif
mad.gif
mmm I find that hard to believe. But maybe I did make him like that - after all I hardly hack him out because of the roads
frown.gif
frown.gif
(scary!) so no doubt it winds him up.

Rode through the housing estate, and F wasn't bad actually
grin.gif
till tense, but I felt like i could handle him
laugh.gif
and I felt so much better just having someone there - even if it was just C.

Rode through a small common - and saw the HORRIBLE COB PONY THAT GALLOPED ROUND THE FIELD THE TIME FRANKIE GALLOPED DOWN THE ROAD
mad.gif
mad.gif
mad.gif
but i felt safe because the road was aaaaaaaaallllll the way on the other side of their field
grin.gif
grin.gif
and Frankie took no notice of the HORRIBLE PONY
mad.gif
(hehe can you tell i don't like it??)

Went down a lane so we could cross the main road. Frankie was spooking at something behind him in someone's house and garden
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
and in front of me was lorries and cars zooming past
shocked.gif
shocked.gif
and as I said Frankie has p!ssed of with me when he was scared, and all i could think was 'what if................?' but C's partner J was there to stop traffic etc etc so i felt safer
grin.gif
I am such a wuss!!
frown.gif
*must stop thinking 'what if......' does me no good
frown.gif
*

Crossed the road, and I tensed up big time
frown.gif
F was a bit tense as well obvs, but J was there next to me so my hand was held
wink.gif
Then turned left onto a side road, and breathed a sigh of relief
smile.gif
smile.gif
Feel sooooooooooo much better off that main road!!

Hacked around to the back of the new yard - c said that there was a loose pony when she came down at 6.30
shocked.gif
shocked.gif
well...........it was still f***ing loose at 9.30!!
mad.gif
mad.gif
So first impressions NOT GOOD!! C wanted to get off but I said after my experience a few weeks ago I felt more in control on him, so i stayed on board. We went to walk past this pony (no one had come to catch the little f***er
mad.gif
) and he was terrorising some horses in the field - one of which had broken down a part of the fence
shocked.gif
then the little black pony run up to me and F and went for us
shocked.gif
shocked.gif
mad.gif
I was like '[****] off you little sh!t' and waved my whip at it's face - F was like
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
but didn't run away or anything
grin.gif

Some woman walked up the lane to catch pony, taking her time i would like to add
mad.gif
First impressions of this place not good! I understand that horses do get loose sometimes, but he had been loose for 3 and a half hours
confused.gif

She tried to catch it - he was having none of it. He galloped down towards the yard, F started jogging but i just kept him going and C got off her horse.

Pony turned around and started galloping towards us, C got out of the way and I tried to block him but he went straight past
frown.gif
and to be honest I didn't want to get too close to the little bastard after he tried to kick us
mad.gif

F got very wound up and spun around
crazy.gif
all the horses in the fields were going mental, but I was so happy that F didn't bugger off and I just booted him around towards the yard and said 'we are going THIS way'
shocked.gif
and then walked towards the yard. Well C walked, while F and I jogged. I swear he was like a coil
smirk.gif
but the end was in sight lol

Got to the yard - i asked a woman to stop her car (4x4 type) because F was being so stupid - if he was going to hit the car i'd rather it was at a standstill and not moving - (the lane was very narrow) and i said thank you, all smiles and the woman in the car completely blanked me
mad.gif
so again not the best impression!

Put F in his box - took him a few goes to go inside, but he was ok.
grin.gif
However a stallion is stabled next to F, and it went nuts
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
so the F decided to try and jump out of the box
frown.gif
I said to J 'lock the door, lock the door' but bless him he's old and not totally horsey
crazy.gif
but he manged to get it locked eventually - stallion and F still going silly but the calmed down after a few minutes. C tied her horse outside F's stable, and after 20 minutes or so they both calmed down - still slightly unsettled, but i mean that could take a few days.

i forget how sensitive F actually is, because in the school and lungeing he is actually quite lazy
smirk.gif
smirk.gif

So C went to get her other two horses and I had a nosey around the new yard.........I had heard a few things..............
crazy.gif

Decent sized school - it is on a slope though
crazy.gif
but I suppose i could get F used to that
smirk.gif

Surface of school - not good. It is sand, and it has lots of stones in it
frown.gif
frown.gif
one end is not as bad at the other, but one end is really bad. there was a jump in the school, which makes me wonder - why would someone jump there horse on a stoney surface? do they not care???

There is a jumping field. I had a walk around - the field was full of small holes. mmm interesting

Yard has a lungeing pen. Again it's sand, i went and had a look and it's not bad actually - quite deep at the edges, and needs raking the sh!t out of it - I don't think people maintain this place very well.

hacking is great
grin.gif
grin.gif
so i'll be hacking out forever more now by the looks of things. I can hire out a decent school just across the road though, with a rubber surface
grin.gif
grin.gif
thanks CatherineF!
laugh.gif

lots of tools lying around
frown.gif

The horse next to F weaves
mad.gif
frown.gif
so he'll be weaving by the end of the week
frown.gif
*am i being too dramatic??*

People seem ok enough - except for that one woman in the car, she was on the yard all morning and looks like she deals with a lot of horses for people. I saw her go into one stable, and run out shouting at the horse inside. So are a lot of the horses nutcases? So far - one loose horrible pony and a woman shouting and running away from one!!
crazy.gif
crazy.gif
C also said that she wasn't pleasant to her either. mmm I'm not into yard politics - i'll keep out of it methinks!!

So i left the yard today feeling somewhat knackered - and it was only 11.30am
smirk.gif

F started scraping his teeth on the door and wall - hopefully he will settle down
crazy.gif
I'm not riding him for a few days anyway. then I'll probably lunge him
smile.gif
And hope he doesn't actually grind his teeth down
smirk.gif
frown.gif

F was banging on the door to his stable, so J gave him a mint. I don't think he has any idea - he drove back to my car and i said maybe not to give him mints when he is banging because he will start to beg *rolls eyes*

I hope i don't sound snobby?? Let me know if I do lol

Sorry for it being so long...........pour yourself a glass of wine after all that - I know i am!!
wink.gif
wink.gif

Just need to upload my horsey worries xx

Jen, that is the longest post ever
wink.gif
smile.gif

He'll probably take a few days to settle by the sounds of things but I'm sure you'll be fine/

WELL DONE anyway for surviving the hack there, give yourself a pat on the back and get out there and enjoy the new hacking.

Ignore any silly yard bitchyness. I have to say F's owner sounds pretty mad. Why doesn't she ride him?

PHEW .... you didn't even give us cookies at the end
tongue.gif

tongue.gif
tongue.gif

I bet no one has EVER posted such a long one before, so you can have cookies for that
blush.gif
blush.gif

I hope it all works out at the new yard for you, and I am sure that when you get to know the people and horses behind the faces, you will find them to be quite 'normal'
smile.gif

Good Luck and ENJOY some nice hacks out
grin.gif

Blimey your fingers must hurt after typing that!! It's always good to get it out though. Well done for hacking over there, and I'm sure the horses will settle down soon.

Sorry I must have missed that post but if Frankie galloped down the road, why is the cobby pony horrible for responding and galloping round his field............?

Hope everyone settles soon.
