Arrived down at the yard this evening to find my (not new but it fitted him like a glove) fleece rug hanging over the fence shredded, soaking wet and covered in wet sand.

Turns out someone (not the trainer apparently) decided that they would put his fleece on him last night after he had worked then some total Muppet turned him out in it today.

Now I am assuming that neither my of my YO's would be so darned stupid so my only thought is that they have asked someone to turn out for them today, which sort of begs the question that if they have no ideas that it is not a good idea to turn a horse out on a damp, foggy, raining , humid day in a polar Fleece rug then actually i don't want them near my horse thanks very much.

More angry at the poor guy spending the day in the equivalent of a soaking wet dressing gown!

I am composing myself so I can go and have a "hey what on earth happened" conversation tomorrow with out using the words;

Moron

Numpty
P***ed Off
etc etc etc

mmm good thought! Although the damn thing was a few years old and only cost me 15 quid in a sale it really is the "what a totally stupid thing to do" and if they miss that what on earth else could they miss.

arrrrgh......(sorry still at the "BLOODY IDIOTS" stage at the moment....think I had best go and meditate;-))
 
Haha when I was turning out one morning last winter I was in a rush and turned our gelding out with his stable rug on. Then I quickly realised, and could i catch the little bugger?! And he loves to roll the minute he's turned out so then ensued this stupid moment of me chasing him round and him running away!

I would be cross, but if someone replaced the rug, that would be fine. However I would be VERY frustrated if the person didnt own up.
 
My yard owner turned my horses out in his fleece on sunday, said he didn't even notice it. What annoyed me most is that no body on the yard text me to ask if it was ok that he was out in it. So much for looking out for each others horses.
 
someone I know turns her horses out in their stable rugs all the time because she is too damn lazy to change them, one of her horses had a borrowed rug of mine on and when he rolled the horse got all tangled up in it and ripped it to shreds trying to get up again!
She bought me a new rug but it's not the point:(

That has to be one of the craziest things I have ever heard - how on earth could anyone with any horse-sense think that was the right thing to do?

Seriously, unless the YO was dieing from flu and had to get their elderly altzeimers suffering nan out to do the yard I think that is unacceptable...
 
I totally agree! he is old school and breeds Shetlands so don't think he knows a stable rug from an outdoor. He did get a lecture so he won't do it again. It was a good job it was dry that day.

OH has been doing the "calm down darling its only a rug speech" .....he is about to get the TV remote shoved where the sun don't shine if he keeps it up!

I am trying to make him understand that ....Yes I am pissed off about the rug being ruined but I am practically incandescent about some complete twit with obviously no horse sense at all being within 2 meters of my horse and if they are this stoopid then what on earth else could they do or miss or not notice or not know any better.

If I wasn't on a diet I would be chowing down the chocolate about now....
 
I would be more upset that someone around my horse hadnt realised that that wasnt right (and that other people hadnt commented to someone about it). It would make me worry that if there was a new lump or bump or scratch or cut or leg hanging off, they might not notice/do the right thing.
