Ok, so moved yards on Saturday to be closer to home and better facilities BUT have I made a mistake?
I am loving it there but I can't help think I have been selfish in moving - the last yard was perfect for fatty as there was hardly any grass which was great for her.
Now I have an abundance of grass, I am religiously checking her hooves, tightening her muzzle, reading about lami, grass sickness, IR and it is driving me mad.
I can't relax - I want to go up there now and check on her as I am convinced that she is ill, even though I am pretty sure she isn't. Her behaviour has changed, so stuffed with grass (even with a muzzle it is more than she is used to) that she is very sleepy in her stable whereas before she was bolshy and really wide awake.
Literally crapping myself - I love the yard but I am worried I have done the wrong thing. Convinced she is going to get sick and have to wear a muzzle forever. Is that really fair on her so that I can have a much shorter drive, a surface and floodlights?
Arrrrggggghhhh! I am worrying about everything!
Also, she never calls for me - I mean she whinneys and grunts at me when I go to her in the morning but a few times over the last few days she has called for me at the top of her lungs as I turned to leave her in the field. She can see another horse and knows he is there - in three weeks when the other horses change over to Winter turnout she will have another mare in with her.
HELP - literally manic tonight!
