Hi everyone,

We finally made the journey for Freds bone spavin xrays, nerve blocks etc today and I am really proud of him. The vet said he would have to be sedated to inject the streoid injections and be xrayed etc but there was no need because he was so good. Even the scary hock injections didn't bother him

So anyway, it transpires that he hardly has any bone spavin at all and they think the problem is more to do with his sacrioliac joint (terrible spelling). They think he must have had an accident and damaged his 'SJ' before I bought him and it has pushed his pelvis out of postion causing him to have serious back pain. He also has a lump half way down his spine.

In order to check his 'SJ' I would need to take him down to Edinburgh to have the special scan and i'm not sure if this would be a lot of mental (for Fred) and financial strain considering he is twelve and all I want him for is light hacking 3/4 times per week.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? What did you do and what other routes could I take to help his 'SJ' ie acupuncture, physio, reiki????????

I am so happy that the scray vet trip is finally over so I would really begrudge going back
