Well as some of you know Freddie was very scared of humans and my husband has spent 6 months befriending him, (3 mths of that taken up with trying to get a halter on) anyway he keeps commenting that I should now start doing things with Freddie as he needs to get used to other people handling him, bearing in mind nobody other than husband have handled him!

Anyway I was in the local farmshop with my 2 daughters and I saw some plaiting bands, I had a bright idea:D I would go catch Freddie:eek: take him down to the yard, plait him up (if he allowed this) and then return him to the field, so when husband came up later in the afternoon he would be faced with a plaited 2 yr old!

So I go to his paddock and he runs down to see me, I attempt to put his halter on and fling the rope between his ears ( I am short) and Freddie just stood there, I thought ok, this is a good sign, I fumbled around and had him haltered, I then attached the lunge line and said walk on, he snorted and planted, I thought oh great:cool: but then he walked, and he walked lovely down to the yard, my daughter held him while I introduced him to babyoil, mane combs and patience, the dear chap stood there, I kept telling him this was girlie time, he had the odd extra strong mint and anyway, this was the end result............................................................................

HEHE my oh said what the ***** has happened to my tough hunter to be!!!!

Was worth me being brave to just pee the oh off :p

I have to say he doesn't look very impressed himself! Are you sure this is because he doesn't like humans or just doesn't like looking like a girl? :p

He loves humans now, and I think he was named after Freddie Mercury......... he didn't like the attention from the inseason mare, he was very confused..... his whinny is also very high pitched, I am thinking he needs some more girlie time.... maybe some pink nail polish next :-)

Lol he was actually looking a bit grumpy, because I was trying to get my head into the photo and he kept eating my head, so I had just told him off, he can produce the poor I had a hard start look, perfectly!
