Free 2015 coursera Equine nutrition course run by Edinburgh Uni

Hi OP - have you done this course or any other coursera distant learning programs? I've never heard of them so would be interested to know if any other H&H ers have.

Thanks for this, will give it a go.

Havannah - one of my friends does loads of Coursera classes, she loves them. Says they're easy to follow and provide you with enough reading/work (although I guess this depends on the person running the course). She got her current job thanks to the different units she took online (she teaches English as a foreign language).

I have done the Coursera course, and it is very useful depending on your current knowledge, there is a lot of information. I think it was week 2 when I thought I would never get my head around it but that was by far the most complex week, and the forum is a mine of information from others around the world. One tip is to print off the lecture notes so you can re-read and absorb them later. It does inform how you feed your horse and helps you to advise others if you get asked.
I have no idea how it happened but I also got the chance to do the CAFRE one, similar but probably a little more straightforward. Am about to start their Horse Health module too, both free and both on line.

I did this course last year and really enjoyed it. It is very general but there is also a forum for discussion and they were great. It involved people from all over the world and it is always interesting getting a different perspective on things.

Yes, I did the first Equine nutrition one in 2013. It is a foundation course and imo very good, I was most impressed. I agree with other comments the accompanying forums are great too.
I note there is a new tutor this year but assume the format and content remain the same.
