How much do they charge to come to a private yard and muck out. 2 x big stables? Only that i mentioned getting some one in three days a week to free up time to ride and my mum said she could use a small job. I know she can do it coz over the years when i was at school she would some times supprise me. I have no idea what i should pay? never having used a free lance goom ever? 2 x 12 x 16 boxes either straw or wood pellets. Think she would be happier to do straw as thats all she ever did before with my old mare many moons ago. Any ideas?

To give a rough idea I got paid £100 to look after one for a week. This included daily turnout/bring in, rug change, muck out, feeding & exercise. Works out to be about £14 a day.
Yard where I keep mine offers mucking out as an 'extra' and they charge around £3.50 per stable.
Hope that helps :)

I pay £10-12 a day to muck out 2 when required in the winter depending on which person comes to do it. They only muck out; no prep of feeds, hay, or turn out/bring in.

If I go away for a couple of days I pay £10 a day for one horse, but that's everything apart from riding - turnout, muckout, bring in, feed, generally check over.

I'd work out how long roughly it will take her and go for £8 an hour - that's what I paid when I was pregnant and needed help a couple of winters ago.
Does she need to do water buckets, hay nets etc.

I think £10 an hour minimum is a fair starting point. Is mileage included or extra? If you find someone you can trust and rely on, they are worth their weight in gold to be honest!!!!
