We are Changing our car soon and currently have a Disco but it is getting to the age where it needs to go. We have been looking at getting a cheap towing car and then getting a more expensive car for going out in. We like the look of the Freelander 2. I know you cannot ( should not ) tow with a Freelander but not too sure about the Freelander 2. Anyone tow with one? x

Freelander 2
GVW 2505 kgs
Towing capacity 2000 kgs

Needs to be driven under B+E licence rules for horse trailer towing due to the high GVW of 2505 only leaving 995 kgs for the trailer plated MAM

It seems that the Freelander 1 had towing power issues from various reports I have read

Yup
Have been towing with the freelander 2 for two years with no problem. I think the issues are with freelander 1s.
If its very muddy we occasionally have to pop the horse off the box to park up but that is in the situation when others are being towed into the field! It's good in snow and ice and lovely to drive.
