Archie's freezemark is booked for Sunday. I am nervous because he is a big boy and I am recovering from collar bone surgery. I am out of my sling and am now able to drive but the shoulder is still weak. I am not sure there will be anyone to help me at the yard so wondered if a great big bucket of food and a hay net will in all likelihood keep him occupied. I am able to hold him to some degree but if he starts really playing up then thats another matter. Can you tell me what to expect, step by step. Also, he has never been clipped but the FM company know this.

umm. you really do need to have a competent helper. if you do have any problems the brander will cease work and ask for the horse to be sedated on a subsequent visit.

I've had three branded, all accustomed to clipping and none were an issue.

a bucket of chaff and goodies will help a great deal.

suggest you introduce clippers before Sunday.

good luck

Yes I would agree to get a helper just incase, you dont want to do yourself anymore damage!

Had my horse done a few weeks ago by 'Freezemark Ltd' who where excellent, my horse didnt even flinch bless her! But she is used to clippers, even though they used a very quiet pair!
