I dont have my horse freezed marked for showiing reasons. but my fwend is getting her horse freezed mark on saturday. Does it hurt them it looks like it will ...?
I know it looks evil doesn't it when they get the iron out, but I don't believe it hurts. Neither of my freezemarked horses flinched when the iron was applied, though some can get freaked out, more by the apprehension than the actual freezemarking. It may be a bit sore later.
Little Un was done a couple of weeks ago & didn't even lift his head out of the feed bucket
. Jim was done years ago & was far more concerned about the clippers than the actual freezemarking & he can normally be relied on to be a drama queen given the slightest cause. Neither seemed sore or bothered by the mark later though Jim did have a slight reaction to the alcohol they use to clean the clipped area.
