Freezemark XX04 - Bay TB Mare - Anyone Know Her?

We have a bay TB mare here (no white) with the freezemark XX04. She was known as Melody when we bought her, although we call her Bisto. Approximate age is mid to late teens (dentist age on passport is year of birth 1991 but we were sold her as a 13 year old so she'd now be 15 if that were true).

Believed to have been owned by a farrier who hunted her in the Tredegar area. We bought her from Cwmbran. She was jumped by a teenage girl before we got her.

She was a witch to catch but we have found out she has spavins and kissing spines so we retired her out not long after we got her and she now lives her retirement out with our herd and is no longer difficult to catch for the most part.

She does have a tiny bit of white on her nose where it looks like a noseband has rubbed her.

Any information on her past would be a bonus as we really know nothing about her. I get the feeling someone has loved her in the past

If you are sure she is a TB - then get your vet to scan her and check for a microchip in her neck. She probably would be too old (it wasn't legal for them to have it at that time) but if she was racing, then she just might have one. If she has, then all you have to do is contact Weatherbys and you can get all the information from them or will set you on your way to finding out more. Good luck.

She is approximately 15.1hh, perhaps 15.2hh at a push.

I do have pictures but I'm a bit of a muppet and haven't figured out how to put them up on here yet

She just has a generic passport which doesn't mention a microchip number but that's not to say she was actually scanned. The vets seem to live here so next time I need one I'll get them to bring the scanner with them.

As far as we can see she certainly looks full TB but she has no official papers. She does have some habits that are similar to my other retired TB who is definitely an ex-racer so we *think* she may have raced. It's all just speculation though.
