Hello all. I will be organising a freezemarking session with Freezemark this spring at a yard between Swindon and Oxford for those of you who might wish to make your horses more identifiable and therefore less likely to be stolen.
Please contact me on this thread or by PM if you wish to participate. There are reduced rates if several horse are marked together. I will also ask the local Police to attend to stamp tack on the day and give crime prevention advice and hopefully there will be some local press to spread the message.

I need to have an idea of numbers in advance and since this is going to involve a number of horses (so an operator for a full day), Freezemark will be asking for a deposit in advance when we can agree on a date

I managed to get Harry done before Christmas but will ask around to see if anyone else wants theirs done. Winkfiedwintershere is our local South Oxon Horsewatch Coordinator and i am sure she will send a message around locally for you.

Maybe it is something we should think about arranging in our area, can you please give me the details of who to contact with this regard.

PM me if you prefer.

Thanx

Freezemark do not do the micromark. Their rationale is that the mark is small and easily missed, even if it is recognised you still need the right chip reader to identify the horse - therefore they concentrate to freezemarking which is an immediate form of identification

Hate to drag up an old thread - But would there be any interest in doing this again do you think???

I emailed my Riding club but they dont seem to think there would be much uptake.
