Freezemarks and show horses

Someone let my horses out of fields they had headcollars on police informed and seems like someone in my area in past 2 weeks has been opening gates moving things etc.

Now they are all microchipped, locked gates and always up at different times of day plus kept eye on by farmer and people who live nearby. One of them is shown in-hand county level and will do ridden as well as in-hand still when older other 2 show as well however only lower level may show one as broodmare county level in few years time.

So im not sure if to get them freemarked or not - all are m&m.

I couldnt care less what the showing people think about it - I'd rather have a freezemarked horse that I can show, than a nonfreezemarked horse that got nicked so I can't show it!
 
"showing people" as you put it, advise freezemarking so theres no issue there.

those that think they get discriminated against because said horse is freezemarked are wrong. they get placed lower down because the animal isnt as good as the ones higher up the line...

Someone undone chains and locks found on floor. Its just none of the m&m ive ever seen are marked so wasnt sure as she has potential to go to top - not me saying that comes from pro riders who have seen her or producers as well at shows offering to buy her.
 
You won't be marked down for it. As loopylozza says, the being marked down idea has probably sprung from riders who can't accept their horse isn't as good as they'd like it to be.

But, get it done under the saddle area. That way it won't be overly distracting for the judge.
 
odd thing that.My boy used to get out of fields that wernt even unlocked/open before he was freezemarked , since he was freezemarked, he didnt.
